Description

The Eagles Ridge Retreat is a beautiful cedar-sided home on three acres just a few miles northwest of Buena Vista. This large cabin sleeps 4-14 people (including kids) comfortably. It also offers free wireless internet.

As you enter this private wilderness haven, the first thing that catches your eye is the soaring 20ft ceiling of the great room and the wall of windows overlooking Mt. Yale. The great room has two separate seating areas - one contains a conversation area by the wood-burning fireplace with 2 sofa-beds and a game table, while the other has a satellite TV and 4 recliners for all the TV-sports fans in the group. There's even a convenient pass-thru from the kitchen for snacks.

The dining room is next with a magnificent 8ft Italian oak dining table with lots of room for everyone and spectacular views from every seat. The window seat is the perfect place for your morning coffee as you watch the sun light up the peaks of Mt. Yale and Mt. Columbia as the wildlife passes by below.

The kitchen is fully furnished with everything a cook could want with top-of-the-line cookware, a side-by-side refrigerator with icemaker, lots of counter space, and a greenhouse window with mountain views over the chef's sink with instant hot water faucet. You'll find everything you need to prepare meals for a couple or a crowd.

There are two master suites. The downstairs master (the Valley View Room) is a spa-like haven with a king-sized bed with plushy pillow-top mattress, dressing bench, walk-in closet, and master bath with a Jacuzzi tub, shower massage and heat lamp. There is a 25" flat screen satellite TV in the room if you ever get tired of watching the ever-changing panorama of the valley and the Buffalo Peaks beyond from the bay window. The upstairs master (the Eagle's Nest) is a peaceful retreat with a cozy under-the-eaves bath, two closets, personal stereo and a beautiful bench for two for sitting and gazing out at the moonlit valley and the lights of Buena Vista at night. The feather bed topper is so fluffy we had to use king-size sheets on the queen-size bed. This room is the only room upstairs, so it is very private and romantic.

The Wolf's Den bedroom is downstairs and has a king-size bed with a memory-foam mattress topper and two windows for views to the south and east. There is a dresser, closet and another 25" flat screen satellite TV. The bathroom for this room is directly across the hall.

The fourth bedroom is part of the 750 square foot children's playroom which takes up the most of the lower level of the house. There are 5 beds in the sleeping area - 2 bunks, one trundle and one day-bed and a full size bed. There is also a half bath just adjacent. There is a mini-kitchen complete with sink, full-size refrigerator, freezer, microwave and activity table with 4 chairs and the fourth satellite TV (programmable for parental control if you desire). There is also a full-size washer and dryer near the sleeping area for convenience.

Outside the home, the newly refinished deck has an awning that can be opened for sun protection if needed and 180 degree views of three 14,000 ft. mountain peaks. Step off the deck and stroll around the 3 acres of pinion pines, fly a kite off the ridge in the back yard, or hike up into the mountains right from the end of the driveway - the national forest begins just up the road from the house. There is parking for more than 4 cars and even space near the lower level entrance for an RV, complete with electric and water hookup.

The cabin is five miles from Buena Vista. Pets are allowed only with prior approval.

Rental Rates

Rates based on 10 person occupancy. $10pp/pn for persons above occupancy. All stays require a $50 laundry fee (plus $5 per person over normal occupancy). Minimum stay of three nights during high seasons. See policies for more information. Stays of two nights or less incur a one-time $90 cleaning fee. Weekly price is based on 7 nights and eight days. Applicable sales and lodging taxes apply. Above defined seasons and rates are for pricing purposes only. House may or not be available for dates above. House has limited availability due to Owner occupancy.

Discounts may be available for smaller or larger groups and for extended periods of time.
